What you’ll impact

Our organization is seeking a Junior Cybersecurity Engineer to support day-to-day security operations, tooling, and compliance initiatives. The role involves ticket triage, email gateway administration, endpoint detection support, vulnerability scanning, and collaboration with senior staff on incident response. It offers mentorship and hands-on experience across multiple security platforms.

Responsibilities

What you'll do

  • Triage, investigate, and resolve security-related tickets escalated from the IT Help Desk.
  • Support administration and maintenance of the email security gateway.
  • Assist with the management and operation of the Security Awareness Training (SAT) platform.
  • Provide operational support assistance and escalation for the CrowdStrike endpoint detection and response (EDR) platform.
  • Perform vulnerability scanning and coordinate remediation activities where needed.
  • Participate in customer and vendor security assessments
  • Support compliance efforts by collecting, organizing, and securely storing required artifacts and evidence.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Cybersecurity Engineer and other IT/security team members on security initiatives and incident response activities as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

What you’ll bring

  • Foundational knowledge of computer operating systems, computer networks, and identity management concepts.
  • Familiarity with core concepts and controls of ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI DSS, and GDPR.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • 6 months to 2 years of experience in a cybersecurity or related technical role.
  • Hands-on experience with Proofpoint, CrowdStrike, and/or Microsoft 365 / Azure administration.
  • Prior exposure to the compliance audit process and security frameworks.
  • Prior exposure to vulnerability management tools (e.g., Tenable) or security awareness platforms.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CySA+, or equivalent) are a plus.
  • 4-year degree with computer science focus.
